Therapeutic Massage is becoming so popular that new techniques pop up every year. In the USA, Swedish, Trigger Point, Shiatsu, Reflexology, and CranioSacral Massage have been the standards. Deep Tissue is Swedish Massage performed with more pressure. Pregnancy and Sports Massage are also Swedish technique performed on the muscles specific to sports activity and the effects of pregnancy on the body. Acupressure, Reflexology, and Neuromuscular are virtually the same as Trigger Point work. Direct Myofascial Release is Deep Tissue massage. Indirect Myofascial Release is the same as CranioSacral Massage.  Yogassage, Myofacial, Acupressure, and Neuromuscular are all employed in Shiatsu technique. Lymphatic Drainage is repetitive Swedish strokes done in the direction of lymphatic flow in the body. Aroma Therapy and Stone Massage are applications of heat and essential oils during any type of massage. It can be very confusing to say the least. So make sure your service is performed by a Licensed Massage Therapist.  The benefits of Medical massage to improve tissue repair, to help the immune system, to treat sleep disorders and depression has made massage a valuable part of well care.
